James Reid wins big at MYX Music Awards 2018
18 May – Singer James Reid recently bagged the most awards at the MYX Music Awards 2018.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the singer, who competed in this year's award through his album, "Palm Dreams", won four awards including Male Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for "Cool Down", and Music Video of the Year for the song, "The Life", directed his own girlfriend Nadine Lustre, and Petersen Vargas.
In addition, Reid also bested stars like Sarah Geronimo, Inigo Pascual, KZ Tandingan and Darren Espanto to win Artist of the Year.
On the other hand, the singer, who wasn't able to attend the event, shared on Twitter that he was still recovering and needed to be in top shape for his upcoming concerts.
In another post, he said, "Honestly, I didn't write ["Palm Dreams"] to win trophies. I did it because I wanted to create music, which is something I believe I was meant for, and to redefine 'mainstream' music in the Philippines."
"Thank you [MYX Philippines] and all who voted for believing in my talent and recognising all the hard work and dedication that went into my music and for supporting my creativity and vision," he added.
He also stated that his choice for Song of the Year would have been Kiana V's "Does She Know".
