James Reid and Joshua Garcia get no star at Walk of Fame '18

12 Dec – Their inability to attend the official ceremony was the reason why James Reid and Joshua Garcia were not inducted in the 2018 Walk of Fame.

As reported on PEP, Reid and Garcia, who were named the inductees alongside their onscreen partners Nadine Lustre and Julia Barretto earlier, were excluded from the final list when they failed to make time for the induction ceremony held at Eastwood City Central Plaza last weekend.

According to Federico Moreno, the president of the Walk of Fame and German Moreno Foundation, the organisers had already invited the stars and their love teams for this year's event.

"Unfortunately, they can't make it. The board is very strict. Presence is really required," said Moreno.

He added that Reid was unable to make an appearance as he had to extend his stay in Australia to attend to his father's needs, while Garcia was unable to make space in his schedule for the event.

"But what we do, once you are nominated, we try to nominate again next year," he added.

Stars who were inducted this year include actress Julia Barretto, beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach, director Chito S. Rono, and BBC reporter Rico Hizon.
