2 Dec – Despite tying the knot on 29 November, former basketball player James Mao went online to mourn the loss of his best friend Godfrey Gao, who was originally to be his groomsmen.
As reported on Mingpao, James, who held a low-key wedding ceremony on 29 November with fiancée Tiffany Wenlo, posted a video on Instagram that was featured at his wedding event, showing the times he and Godfrey - as well as his group of friends - shared together.
He expressed, "For those that weren't able to see this video last night, we wanted to share a snapshot of how many relationships that were built because of G. Because of such short timing to get this video done, we were only able to include as many friends and family pictures as possible."
"Needless to say, he touched more hearts than one video can show, but we wanted last night to include a tribute to G, and that this would bring tears of joy that we celebrated such good times with our brother. May this video touch your hearts as much as it has ours," he added.
On the other hand, Godfrey's girlfriend Bella Su, who has been keeping mum about the actor's passing, recently changed her Instagram profile description, which read, "Whatever we are... You and I will always collide."
In a previous interview, the late actor's manager denied reports that Godfrey and Bella were engaged, saying that the actor was not yet ready for such a commitment.
Godfrey passed away last week after suffering from a heart attack on the set of Zhejiang TV's reality show, "Chase Me".
