Britney Spears’ Carpool Karaoke Tease Approaches 2.6M Views As Full Video About To Go Public – Update

Updated, 10:20 AM: With hours to go before Carpool Karaoke releases its Britney Spears video, a promo tease of the Late Late Show video franchise’s latest iteration already amassed more than 2.5M views on YouTube. Britney sped past Hillary Clinton’s 1.4M for the taking the Pickle-Jar Opening Test on Jimmy Kimmel Live, rebutting the Donald Trump campaign’s position she’s too frail and unwell to serve as POTUS.

Yesterday morning, hours after the tease went public on YouTube, it had clocked more than a quarter million views, though, among late-night videos, she still trailed Hillary Clinton. The candidate’s reading of Trump quotes (except the one about how he would maybe date Ivanka if she were not his daughter) on JKL had then clocked over half a million YouTube views, though, in fairness, it had been posted several hours before the pop star’s Carpool Karaoke promo.

PREVIOUS, MONDAY PM: James Corden’s CBS late-night show teased Britney Spears’ Carpool Karaoke this evening. A couple weeks ago, CBS announced at TCA that Spears would be the next celeb to ride along with Corden for some Carpool Karaoke. The pop star is set for The Late Late Show segment on Thursday, a day before her ninth studio album Glory is released via RCA Records.

Grammy winner Spears has sold nearly 100 million records worldwide. She has had six No. 1-debuting albums on the Billboard 200 chart and 24 top 40 hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100 — five of which went to No. 1. She has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards and won Best Dance Recording for “Toxic” in 2005.

But, Adele is the reigning queen of Carpool Karaoke. Corden’s Late Late Show holds the YouTube record for the most-watched late-night clip with Adele Carpool Karaoke, which has 123M views. The show’s YouTube Channel has amassed more than 1.5 billion total views and nearly 7 million subscribers since the show’s premiere on March 23, 2015.
