Jam Hsiao doesn't have issues with pay cap

11 Oct – Taiwanese singer-songwriter Jam Hsiao recently stated that he has no issues with China's new restriction guideline concerning artistes' fee.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer who appeared in Hong Kong to attend a fashion event recently, declined to say whether or not he is affected by the restriction, but stressed that it is a very sensible decision.

"It's a very reasonable thing. We should just respect the rules and regulations," he said.

When asked if he is paid less than before since new guidelines are implemented, Jam said that one doesn't necessarily do something for the reward.

"Sometimes we do it for promotions, publicity, and the experience," he said.

On the other hand, when asked to comment about Taiwanese singer Fei Yu-ching's retirement from showbiz, Jam admitted that from the perspective of a fan, he felt a bit disappointed and unwilling to let Fei go.

"But as a friend and colleague, I understand his position. He has sacrificed a lot from his life for his music. Sometimes you need to do something for your own happiness," he added.
