The Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal movie "Life" will close this year's SXSW film festival, organizers have announced.

The film will make its world premiere at the Austin-based festival, which runs March 10-19.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa, the movie tells the story of a team of scientists aboard the International Space Station who discover what caused extinction on Mars and now threatens all life on Earth.

Rebecca Ferguson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ariyon Bakare and Olga Dihovichnaya also star.

As previously announced, the festival will open with Terrence Malick's latest project, "Song to Song," with Edgar Wright's "Baby Driver" and Ben Wheatley's "Free Fire" also screening at the event.

"Life" will be released in theaters March 24, 2017.
