Jake Ejercito breaks silence, Andi Eigenmann counters

The actor wants the actress to stop involving his family, Eigenmann denies

26 Apr - Jake Ejercito recently released a statement via his lawyer, Ferdinand Topacio, asking the mother of her child, Andi Eigenmann to not involve his family in the conflict between them.

As reported on PEP News, in the statement, Ejercito, who angered Eigenmann when he filed a petition for joint-custody of daughter Ellie Belle earlier, stated that he couldn't help but respond despite his previous stance on keeping mum about the issue, since Eigenmann had dragged the whole family into the case.

"I now kindly request her to focus her tirades on me as I will not allow myself to be used as a publicity pawn against my family. Moreover, I will not let my family be incessantly used in someone's apparent pursuit to play victim," he said.

Ejercito also urged Eigenmann to stop steering away from the paternity issue and getting his family involved in their problem.

"Besides, this is about my rights as a father who is already making up for so much lost time. Please stop making it about you. I hope this will be the last time I will feel the need to comment on anything related to the petition as I seek for its speedy and amicable resolution," the statement added.

On the other hand, Eigenmann recently responded to Ejercito's statement online, saying that she never directed her claims to any of Ejercito's family members.

"I don't care about your family to have to talk about them, I care about your true intentions for trying to take my child away from me," she added in another post, adding that Ejercito would have not complicate matters if he really thinks about Ellie.

"Jake, if I ever said things to make it seem like I was gonna take my child away from you, that was [because] I was hurt, and sad, and I loved you. And YOU, are very much a part of what I want for her. What's confusing is why you have to bring me down and insist that I'm unfit [...] Burning down other people's light to make yours shine brighter is such a stupid thing to do. I just thought you were better than that," wrote the actress.
