Jake Cuenca happy to play Ang Panday's villain

26 Jul - Jake Cuenca is thankful for the chance given to him to play the role of Lizardo in the upcoming adaptation of Carlo J. Caparas' famous comic hero, "Ang Panday".

As reported on ABS-CBN News, the actor, who has started filming the movie alongside lead star Coco Martin recently, shared, "I am just thankful that I didn't get a haircut before I made the movie. But I really am excited about "Ang Panday". I am excited about working with Coco and other big actors."

Cuenca also promised to give the best effort in playing the blacksmith's archenemy.

"I will really do it in my own way. Like I said, when I do antagonistic roles, I really do it well. And when Coco brings us together, it's magical," he said.

In the original comics, Lizardo is a demon who - along with his supernatural minions - oppresses the hometown of Flavio, the blacksmith.

The role was first played by actor Max Alvarado in the original Fernando Poe Jr. movie, and was also played by Philip Salvador in the 2009 movie.
