Jaguar unveils the most powerful model in its history

=5. Jaguar XE SV Project 8: 200mph

To be presented at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood in the UK, the powerful Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is in the same league as supercars.

Designed by the brand's SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) division, this is the most powerful Jaguar road car ever produced. With a 600 HP 5.0-liter V8 engine and an 8-speed automatic gearbox, it can hit top speeds of over 320km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

This stylish model, which is competing head-on with Germany's big hitters, has all the hallmarks of a sports car with its adjustable wing, front spoiler, bumpers, skid plates and a rear diffuser made of carbon-fiber. Despite that, it weighs 1745 kg (a little less for the 2-seater "Track Pack" version). This super-sedan also has carbon-ceramic brakes, which are used on F1 cars.

Inside, Alcantara covers the steering wheel, dashboard and door panels. But the sporty feel predominates, with magnesium-framed seats and various carbon-fiber inserts.

Only 300 of these Project models will be produced. This extreme performance Jaguar, which will be entirely hand built and solely left-hand drive, has a price tag of 149,995 GBP for the 4-seater version.

Note that a 500 HP Jaguar XE SVR is expected to make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (September 16 to 24).
