Jacky Cheung denies daughter dating married man
29 Jun - Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung has recently clarified rumours that daughter Yiu Wah is currently in a relationship with a married man.
According to Liberty Times News, rumours of Yiu Wah's affair sparked recently, after she uploaded a photo of her embracing a Caucasian man named Mathis. The latter then left a comment saying, "I love you so much", to which she replied, "I love you more".
Netizens who saw the photo quickly dug up information about Mathis, and found out that he has his relationship status on Facebook as being married, leading to speculations that Yiu Wah is currently a third party in a man's marriage.
But when asked about it recently, Jacky assured that there is no issue at all, and that his daughter has the right to be friends with anybody.
"My only condition is that [her social life] will not affect her studies," he said.
He also explained that his daughter has been studying in an international school since she was young, and is used to the western culture.
"To foreigners, saying 'love you' is as common as saying 'goodbye'. They're all just friends now," he added.
When asked if he is willing to have a foreigner as his son-in-law in the future, Jacky responded, "I never thought too much into it."
