Jackson Wang's images removed by Shinsegae Duty Free?
5 Apr – There has been a lot of issues concerning brands and its spokespersons since the hullabaloo that was triggered over the Xinjiang Cotton scandal, with the latest being Jackson Wang and his endorsement with South Korea's Shinsegae Duty Free.
As reported on Singtao Daily, mainland netizens recently noticed that the Chinese member of the K-pop group GOT7 - who was appointed the new spokesperson of the said store - no longer has his images on Shinsegae's official Instagram, which now only has photos of their former spokesperson Cha Eun-woo.
However, the store still kept Jackson's images on its official Weibo account.
It is noted that Jackson previously expressed his support for Xinjiang cotton and promptly cut ties with sports brand Adidas on 25 March.
While Shinsegae made no mention about ending their relationship with the singer, which they only signed on back in March, the Korean media has speculated that the suddenly missing images may have something to do with Jackson's stance.
When asked about it, the company's rep stated that they are still handling the issue.
"We have just learned about the matter, and the company has not yet expressed any position," the rep said.
