15 Jul – Multi-faceted Singaporean filmmaker Jack Neo has launched his new virtual talent search "Show off Show", in hopes of finding multi-talented fresh faces in his home country as well as in Malaysia.

The reality-based weekly live show is described as an interactive entertainment platform for "individuals who are passionate in singing, acting, hosting, dancing & live streaming" to unleash their talents.

During the 10-week programme, contestants will be given tasks to complete by the hosts as well as the judges. Selected contestants will also have the chance to attend masterclasses conducted by veteran actors and digital entertainment experts, like Jack Neo himself and Singaporean actor Andie Chen.

"I am excited to start this virtual journey with my team in search for the next big star. The show will provide a new space for every passionate and talented individual from Singapore and Malaysia to showcase their talent and versatility to a wider pool of audiences across boundaries," said the director in a press statement.

The hosts and judges of "Show off Show" are grouped into two categories: Chinese and English.

Following the announcement earlier this year of his appointment as CEO of Asia Momentum Media (AMM), a subsidiary of Hong Kong Asia Television (ATV) Holdings Limited that spans across Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and subsequently China, "Show off Show" marks Jack Neo's first major project in the role.

Aside from the talent search, AMM will also be launching a live entertainment app in the near future, which will feature both AMM original productions and ATV's classic productions.
