Jack Ma: Why people keep linking me to Zhao Wei?
11 Dec – Business magnate Jack Ma has recently expressed puzzlement as to why the media would always link him to actress Zhao Wei.
As reported on Tencent, the Alibaba Group founder who spoke about the media's obsession with their relationship recently, stated that he rarely meets Zhao even though the actress and her husband have a stake in Alibaba's film division.
"I think I have met her at least five times, and that is only when we attend the same charity events," he said.
Ma said that the rumours were out a while ago, and that he read the gossip piece soon after out of curiosity.
"I wonder why we are being linked to each other. This I do not understand," he said, adding that someone clearly manipulated the photos to make it seemed like they are always together.
Back in November, it was reported that Zhao Wei has received a five-year ban from trading in the mainland stock market for irregularities connected with a takeover bid.
