Iza Calzado wins Best Actress at PMPC Star Awards
20 Feb – Iza Calzado has been named Best Actress again, this time at the 34th PMPC Star Awards for Movies.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress bested other worthy contenders in the category, including Alessandra de Rossi, Agot Isidro, Sharon Cuneta and Bela Padilla to win the accolade for her role in the psychological thriller, "Bliss".
"Star Awards means a lot to me. I grew up watching this because my father would always be part of Star Awards. It means so much to me that I finally won, and a major award at that," said the actress.
Previously, Calzado won the Yakushi Pearl Award for Best Performance for her role in the said movie at the 2017 Osaka Asian Film Festival.
On the other hand, despite losing to Calzado, de Rossi's movie, "Kita Kita" won four awards including Movie of the Year.
