Iza Calzado tests positive for COVID-19

30 Mar – Actress Iza Calzado has been tested positive for COVID-19.

The news was shared by the actress' talent manager Noel Ferrer on social media on 28 March, a day after she received her test result following her hospitalisation from pneumonia.

He wrote, "She is recovering well as she was aggressively treated for pneumonia and the virus. She can actually breath now without any oxygen assistance. She will be tested again to see if she is negative."

Ferrer also assured that everybody else who interacted with her, including her husband Ben Wintle, have not shown any symptoms.

"She doesn't know where she contracted the virus from, but it's best for all of us to take seriously the advice of doctors and health authorities on proper hygiene, physical distancing, quarantine and social responsibility," he added, thanking frontliners who continue to risk their lives to attend to Calzado and their countrymen plagued with the virus.

Last week, Calzado took to social media to announce about her situation, writing, "It's been a challenging time for me but it cannot compare to the frontliners who have cared for me and to whom I am so grateful. My heart goes out to everyone in these trying times, especially those who risk their lives every day to care for their loved ones."
