Is There A Star Wars: The Force Awakens Post Credits Scene?

J.J. Abrams has confirmed that there isn’t a post credits scene in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’

Over the last decade Marvel Studios have made in common practice to put a brief teaser, featuring the likes of Nick Fury, The Collector, and Quicksilver, right at the end of their efforts to entice viewers back for further films.

But speaking at a press conference in Los Angeles over the weekend Abrams insisted that wasn’t needed for ‘The Force Awakens’. “No,” Abrams remarked (via Games Radar) when quizzed about the potential footage, “All of the scenes are actually in the movie.”

Of course, the fact that Disney own both Marvel and Lucasfilm, and considering that a new ‘Star Wars’ film is going to be released once a year for the foreseeable future, you can understand why the powers that be might have tried to convince Abrams to include a snippet for one of the upcoming instalments.

But it would have been hard for Abrams to have sullied ‘The Force Awakens’ with such footage.

That’s because the next ‘Star Wars’ film, ‘Rogue One’, is actually set way before ‘The Force Awakens’, while ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’, which will focus on the same characters as its predecessor, is only scheduled to start production in 2016 ahead of its May 26, 2017, release date.

Still, once the Star Wars universe is up and running again it’s almost a certainty that Disney will ask their directors to feature teases to future films. Especially since it’s worked such wonders for Marvel.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is now just a week away from release in the UK, which is something that I’m guessing a lot of you are rather pleased about.
