When celebrities launch skin care companies, it’s natural to be skeptical. And I’ll be the first to say that I was prepared for below-average results when I first heard Hailey Bieber was creating skin care products. She has gorgeous skin, but were her products actually going to be effective? I asked what every other skin care-obsessed person was asking: Is Rhode skin any good?
Since its launch, the company has kept its product offering very curated, with only one cream, one glazing fluid and one lip treatment, as well as a value set that lets you try all of its products. Each individual product retails for less than $30, and they all fit seamlessly into my skin care routine. Keep reading for my honest thoughts on the brand’s hero products, but the short answer is that yes, you should give Rhode a shot.
Rhode's Barrier Restore Cream is hands-down my favorite product out of the entire lineup. This rich face cream works to restore your skin's barrier, and my skin seriously drinks it up. It moisturizes my skin instantly, thanks to the included peptides and niacinamide, and never leaves me looking or feeling greasy. And during the summer, this is one of my non-negotiables regarding skin care. I like to use this cream on clean skin before bed, but you can use it in the morning, too, if your skin is on the drier side. This face cream is fragrance-free and suitable for all skin types! I have super sensitive skin, and this never breaks me out.
Available in unscented, Watermelon Slice, Salted Caramel and the occasional limited edition flavor, all iterations of Rhode's Peptide Lip Treatment are essentially a souped-up version of your favorite clear lip gloss. This non-sticky lip treatment hydrates and replenishes your pout while leaving you with a high-shine finish. The formula is packed with shea butter to moisturize and peptides to "visibly plump and reduce the look of fine lines." But don't worry, this treatment plumps lips but doesn't sting or tingle like others on the market. The brand even says you can apply a thick layer, let it sit for 10 minutes and then wipe away excess before applying your lipstick to achieve the perfect base!
Looking to really look like a glazed donut like Hailey Bieber? Then you'll definitely want to add Rhode's Peptide Glazing Fluid into your beauty routine. This lightweight gel absorbs into the skin in a flash and gets credit as being "Hailey’s signature step to dewy, glazed skin." You can use this gel on its own under makeup, or you can layer it under the Barrier Restore Cream to really treat your skin to some TLC. The Peptide Glazing Fluid contains hyaluronic acid and marula oil to hydrate skin and soften the skin barrier, and, like the cream, it is fragrance-free and suitable for all skin types.
Get ready for a drama fit for a TikTok video, because things got heated near the junction of King George’s Avenue. The gulf between Israel and the US on one hand - and Arab states and much of the rest of the world on the other - couldn't really be greater. With the US diplomatic backing, and with more of its ammunition supplies being shipped to Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that to achieve his goals of rescuing hostages - but more importantly, in reality, the destruction of Hamas - then a ceasefire is a non-starter. Despite their admirable work, in truth they won't get very far for the time being because neither of the protagonists - Hamas and Israel - seem awfully interested in a ceasefire anyway.
In a YouGov study, three in 10 people in the UK report being sexually inactive, with almost a fifth of people aged 40 to 44 not having sex. By the age of 74, this figure jumps to 57 per cent. While it’s often difficult to get an entirely accurate picture of people’s intimate lives, one survey suggests that over a quarter of relationships are sexless.

A recent killing spree in the Mexican border city of Tijuana could have been lifted from a TV script: enraged drug lords hunting down corrupt police officers who stole a drug shipment. Two of the officers suspected of the theft have been killed, prosecutors say. It is the latest blow for Tijuana which has the most homicides of any city in Mexico, with about double the number of the place that comes second — the border city of Ciudad Juarez.
