Irene Wan is happy with award from Vietnam

12 Nov – Hong Kong actress Irene Wan recently admitted that she was surprised to be awarded Best Movie Icon at the Harper's Bazaar Vietnam's Star Awards 2019.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actress, who attended the event held last month, stated that she didn't even expect that she has a lot of fans in Vietnam, let alone to be awarded in the country.

"They told me that they really loved my movies and TV dramas and my characters like Daji and Hoi Chiu. I only found out now that I have a lot of fans in Vietnam," she said.

Irene stated that she enjoyed her time in the country and even went sightseeing following the event.

"Vietnam's cuisine is very tasty and the places are beautiful," she said.

Asked if she is encouraged to do more movies and TV projects now that she realised she has a lot of fans outside Hong Kong, the actress-turned-producer said that she would continue to insist on quality over quantity for the sake of fans.

"I promised everyone that as soon as I get a good script, I definitely would return to television," she added.
