Could "Ip Man 4: The Finale" reach RM40 million in earnings? We'll just have to wait and see.

3 Jan – After generating incredible hype the moment it was released, the fourth and final instalment of the "Ip Man" martial arts action series, "Ip Man 4: The Finale", has now become the highest-earning Chinese film in Malaysia, breaking a huge box office record of RM30.3 million.

The good news was recently announced by the movie's distributor in Malaysia, RAM Entertainment.

On its opening weekend, the Donnie Yen-starrer earned RM10.5 million in just three days of screening, which rose to RM20.5 million within its first week.

The current record means that "Ip Man 4: The Finale" has surpassed the previous box office record of RM30 million, set by its predecessor "Ip Man 3".

This being Donnie Yen's final reprisal of the titular kung fu master could be one of the contributing factors to the success of "Ip Man 4: The Finale".

Directed by Wilson Yip, the movie stars other talented actors besides Donnie Yen, such as Danny Chan, Wu Yue, Scott Adkins, Vanness Wu and many more.

"Ip Man 4: The Finale" follows Master Ip Man as he travels to San Francisco, USA, to visit his student's Wing Chun school. However, his visit starts to unsettle the established martial arts community in the area.
