Shree Saini, an Indian American 25-year-old was crowned the prestigious Miss World America 2021 in the Headquarters in Los Angeles. Saini was born in Punjab, India but raised in Washington. The win is historic for Saini and other Indian Americans as she is the first Indian American to win the coveted title.
“I’m now your first American of Indian origin and the first Asian to become Miss World America. Because of the historicness of my crowning, I believe this is a collective win. It’s not just my win. It’s a win for our inclusive “America”, It is a win for our diverse America, for every race, for everyone. I am honored to represent that inclusivity that America has,” wrote Saini.
“I am happy and quite nervous and can’t express my feelings in words. All the credit goes to my parents, especially my mother because of whose support I am here. Thank you for this honor,” she said. “Thank you, God, for blessing me with the service job of Miss World America 2021. I feel so endlessly grateful to everyone who has held my hand, encouraged me, corrected me, and guided me on my life journey,” added the new winner.

The American Bazaar called her to be the unique winner. Not just for her ethnic roots but due to the hurdles she faced along her journey. Saini has had a permanent pacemaker since the age of 12. Additionally, she also had a major car accident which gave her burns on her face.
“Shree, who is currently Miss World America Washington, also holds the prestigious position of ‘MWA National Beauty with a Purpose Ambassador’, a position she earned by working tirelessly to help those less fortunate and in need,” stated the official handle. Doctor by profession, Saini has always indicated those less fortunate and in pain. Her professional work is recognized by the Doctors without Borders, UNICEF, and many others.
