I’m A Celebrity: Vicky Pattison Is Queen Of The Jungle

After spending the last three weeks shunning our social lives to watch a bunch of celebrities battle cockroaches and eat LIVE spiders (how Ferne McCann did that we’ll never know), we finally have a new I’m A Celebrity champion.

Congratulations, Vicky!

Before she could be handed the crown, the Geordie Shore lass and her fellow finalists Ferne and George Shelley had to complete one last Bushtucker Trial each.

Vicky was tasked with ‘Surf and Turf’, having to travel through tanks filled with snakes, spiders, crabs and eels to grab keys and retrieve four gold stars.

Poor Ferne was given the eating trial - the ‘Bushtucker Bonanza’ - dismissing plates of pizza, pie, roast chicken and profiteroles in favour of witchetty grubs, lamb’s brain, the end of a bull’s penis and a live water spider.

Last but not least, George had to lie in a perspex box and move four stars out of a metal grate and onto a shelf, all while 45,000 cockroaches, 25,000 crickets, 50,000 mealworms, 20 witchetty grubs and five nests of green ants made themselves at home on him.

Thanks to their amazing efforts, the finalists won themselves a three-course meal, with George choosing spaghetti and meatballs, lamb moussaka (sure) and chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream.

Vicky went for pepperoni pizza, lasagne and red velvet cake with ice cream, while Ferne chose Peking duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce, chow mein, chips, and sweet and sour chicken and profiteroles.

Ant and Dec then announced that Ferne had come third in the show, with the Essex girl telling them: “I threw myself into the experience. Of course you have your highs and lows but I just really enjoyed it.”

Addressing her flanter with George, she added: “We’re definitely going to meet up and stay friends. I’ve fallen in love with him in a completely different way and I just loved hanging out with him.”

Before the final result was announced, George and Vicky discussed their time in the jungle, with the Union J singer admitting: “I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it that much, but I had so much fun and met some amazing people.”

He too spoke about flirting with Ferne, revealing: “We’re going to stay friends, we’ve already got meals and nights out planned. You’re in the jungle. I dunno, we’re gonna have to spend some time outside together.”

Having entered the jungle in the hopes of changing people’s perceptions of her, Vicky, a late arrival to camp, described the experience as a ‘dream come true’, saying: “I thought I’d hate it and I can honestly say I have struggled on occasion, but it’s been very rare and the rest of the time, I have loved it and just embraced it.”

She added: “I bet everyone thought I was just going to go in there and start chucking kangaroos about. I’m goofy.”

She also admitted she thought she’d clash with Ferne, continuing: “I thought we were going to be so similar, almost too similar and we were going to clash, but we complimented each other lovely and she’s amazing. She’s so nice.”

She was then revealed as the new Queen of the Jungle, with last year’s winner Carl Fogarty handing over the floral crown and big wooden stick.
