IKEA Singapore to temporarily stop selling chicken wings from 23 May after complaints

Swedish furniture giant IKEA said it will be temporarily halting the sale of chicken wings at both its Singapore outlets after customer complaints.

In a Facebook post on Friday (19 May), IKEA said it was aware that ” our chicken wings have not been meeting our customers’ satisfaction recently”.

IKEA said the halt of chicken wings sales would start from 23 May at both the Alexandra and Tampines outlets.

“Together with our supplier, we are committed to providing quality food products for everyone,” IKEA said.

The furniture giant apologised for any inconvenienced caused and said it hoped customers were looking forward to the relaunch of the chicken wings.

Among the online complaints of IKEA’s chicken wings were that the quality had dropped and the size of the wings had shrunk.

Some had said the wings were cold, hard and dry, while others commented that the chicken wings tasted like they had been fried more than once.

IKEA has in the past heavily discounted its chicken wing prices, most recently selling them for $0.50 a piece in March this year.
