The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) Cultural Extravaganza will kick off its three-week long fiesta in May by paying tribute to Singapore’s comedy icons of past and present through a new theatre performance.

Masters of Comedy – staged by local theatre group Toy Factory – will trace the stories of Singapore’s comedy stars over the years, including comic duo Wang Sha and Ye Feng, Mark Lee, Hui Ge, Bai Yan and Jack Neo.

The 90-minute show will combine elements of Chinese comedic dialogue, crosstalk, as well as song and dance.

The Extravaganza celebrating local Chinese culture will be held at the SCCC from 18 May to 10 June.

Other programmes in the line-up include an exhibition on Singapore’s letterpress and printing history and the “Sing.Lang Concert”, which features Singapore’s musical talents such as Sing! China finalist Joanna Dong and The Sam Willows’ Benjamin Kheng.
