The British public have voted Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You as the greatest movie song of all time.

According to Metro, the huge hit single from the 1992 romantic drama ‘The Bodyguard’ beat the likes of Survivor’s Eye Of The Tiger from ‘Rocky III’, Celine Dion’s My Heat Will Go On from ‘Titanic’ and Ben E King’s Stand By Me from the film of the same name in the research, which was conducted by Samsung HW-K950 Soundbar.

You can check out the entire top 10 below:

1. I Will Always Love You – Whitney Houston (‘The Bodyguard’)
2. Eye of the Tiger – Survivor (‘Rocky III’)
3. (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life – Bill Medley, Jennifer Warnes (‘Dirty Dancing’)
4. My Heart Will Go On – Celine Dion (‘Titanic’)
5. Take My Breath Away – Berlin (‘Top Gun’)
6. Mrs Robinson – Simon & Garfunkel (‘The Graduate’)
7. The Bare Necessities – (‘The Jungle Book’)
8. You’re The One That I Want – John Travolta & Olivia Newton John (‘Grease’)
9. Stand by Me – Ben E King (‘Stand by Me’)
10. Stayin’ Alive – Bee Gees (‘Saturday Night Fever’)

I Will Always Love You was a clear winner in the poll, topping all but two age groups. The exceptions saw 18 to 24-year-olds voting for My Heart Will Go On and 25 to 34-year-olds voting for Eye Of The Tiger as their number ones, while men preferred the ‘Rocky III’ track and women chose ’Dirty Dancing’s’ (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.

As is always the way with such lists, there were some startling omissions, and I for one can’t believe that Prince’s Purple Rain, Eminem’s Lose Yourself from ‘8 Mile’ or Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 didn’t at least make the top 10.

But we can all be grateful that MC Hammer’s Addams Groove from ‘The Addams Family’ didn’t make a rogue appearance. Because that track is simply a travesty.
