21 Jun – Hungarian Film Fiesta (HFF) 2.0 has officially launched in Malaysia following its opening ceremony that was held at GSC Pavilion KL yesterday evening.

The venue is once again hosting the HFF movie screenings, which, like its 2018 predecessor, come up to a total of 4 titles this year.

However, HFF has expanded its reach beyond just the Klang Valley area of Malaysia as the second edition is set to be held in Penang and Kuching as well.

The dates for HFF 2.0 are as follows: GSC Pavilion KL (21 to 23 June 2019), GSC Gurney Plaza (29 to 30 June 2019) and GSC CityOne Megamall, Kuching (6 to 7 July 2019).

While last year was football-themed, this year it's all about celebrating collaborations between two nations as Hungary and Malaysia celebrate the 50th year of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"I think it's very important that this year we celebrate five decades of friendship and cooperation with our Malaysian friends," said Ambassador of Hungary to Malaysia H.E. Atilla Kali in his welcome speech. "We hope that the film festival can contribute to bringing the people of the countries closer together."

"Liza, The Fox-Fairy" was aptly picked as the opening film of HFF 2.0, as it is a collaborative work between two countries, namely Hungary and Japan, that suitably demonstrates how different cultures can come together to produce a great movie-going experience.
