Huang Zitao rides motorcycle for the first time in new movie

26 May - There is a lot that Huang Zitao has never done in his life, and that includes riding a motorcycle.

But for the sake of his new movie, "Edge of Innocence", where he plays the lead for the first time, the Chinese star decided that he should learn to do it himself.

As reported on YWCB, Huang, who appeared at the promotional event of the said movie recently, shared that despite having no experience riding one, there was no way of avoiding it since the motorcycle is part of the plot.

"My character Kang Qiao is 19, and would never go anywhere without his motorcycle. But my character then had to be hospitalised due to a broken leg, and that's how a series of events took place," he said.

However, even though he is not skilled at riding a motorcycle, the director shared that Huang insisted to do it himself rather than use a substitute.

The cast members were also asked what they were doing when they were 19. Co-star Li Meng shared that she was filming Jia Zhangke's movie, "A Touch of Sin"; while Yang Caiyu revealed that she had just returned from studying overseas and was trying to adapt to living in China again.

As for Huang himself, the former EXO member shared that he was still a trainee when he was 19, working hard to make his debut as part of the said K-pop group.

Based on the Japanese novel, "Summer, the Portrait of a 19 Year Old" by Soji Shimada, "Edge of Innocence" centres on the teenage boy, Kang Qao (Huang Zitao), who, while in the hospital with an injured leg, is drawn to a mysterious girl whom he saw committing a crime across the street.
