Huang Xiaoming explains why he wears shoes with insoles

23 Jan – Huang Xiaoming has recently shut his bashers up after they mocked him for using high insole shoes, telling netizens that it was a necessity for him and not – like they speculated – to appear higher than he is.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who was questioned by netizens after he was spotted wearing shoes with high insoles during an appearance in mainland China, shared a photo of his foot on social media, revealing that he has high instep on his left foot.

According to reference.com, a high instep (also known as Pes Cavus) is "a type of foot structure in which the arch of the foot does not fall flat when bearing weight". It also occurs in about 8 to 15 per cent of the population.

Huang stated that while he was born with a high arch, a previous accident has caused the arch of his foot to raise.

The actor explained that wearing a lot of shoes can be painful to him.

At the same time, the actor also requested for his followers who may have similar condition to tell him where he can buy suitable shoes that would not hurt his foot.
