Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy win defamation lawsuit
11 Apr – Chinese celebrity couple Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy have recently won their case against a beauty merchant for abusing their portraits and defaming them to promote their service.
As reported on Epoch Times, the couple filed a lawsuit some time ago against the unnamed defendant, after the latter shared unflattering photos of the two of them online, saying that Huang and Angelababy would look like that at their wedding had they not made some "changes" to their face.
The result was announced by the Beijing court recently, saying that the defendant has been ordered to release a statement of apology in seven days.
The defendant was also required to pay the couple RMB 80,000 in economic loss and RMB 5,000 for defamation, bringing the sum to a total of RMB 85,000.
