Hu Ge named Best Actor at Magnolia Awards


13 Jun - Chinese actor Hu Ge has bagged the Best Actor accolade at Shanghai Television Festival's Magnolia Awards held recently.

As reported on China Times, the actor, who won the award for his performance in "Nirvana in Fire" on 11 June, admitted that the accolade represents his past – to remind himself to do better in his future work.

In fact, the actor, who seemed to have slowed his acting projects down this year, stated that he intended to cut his work load in order to "learn".

"Learning is a lifetime thing. Maybe I look good on screen, but I should also raise the bar in my performance," he said.

Hu Ge also stated that winning the award gives him a greater pressure to do better in the future, adding, "I will have a higher expectation of myself."
