Hu Ge confirms temporary break to further his studies
20 Feb - Say goodbye to Chinese actor Hu Ge, as he is set to leave the movie industry for a year or two to continue his studies.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who was previously rumoured to leave for the United States to study filmmaking, recently admitted to his plans on a talk show held after the CCTV Spring Festival Gala.
"I have a big plan in 2017. You may not see me a lot in movies and dramas in the next year or two. I plan to continue my studies," he said.
Hu Ge then added, "I hope you will all continue to support me and give me encouragement."
The actor previously kept mum about his plans, even after a photo of his US visa circulated online. When asked about the rumours, he only admitted that there is some truth to it, but declined to elaborate further.
It was reported that Hu Ge, whose class at the New York University will start in July, will be leaving as early as March so that he could have time to improve his proficiency in the English language.
