It’s that time of the year again when you receive a million invitations to parties, dinners and small get-togethers with friends. What better way to shine during these occasions than by having great, in-season, salon-perfect hair? We asked Jing Monis of the Jing Monis Salon the new looks are for the season as well as tips on how to keep your hair healthy and manageable throughout the stress of the holidays.
What are the hair color trends for the holiday season?
For this season its violet/purple, red, bronze, gold and copper tones.
What are the hair style trends for the holiday season?
This season’s looks include the messy ponytail, wet look, undone waves, messy bouffant, wavy bob, indie bangs, the classic pixie and the bob.
What are the new products that keep colored hair healthy?
Macadamia Natural oil line (shampoo, leave-in cream, healing oil spray and deep repair masque) [is] ideal for all hair types that nourishes, moisturize and protects chemically treated hair. I also like Potion 9 by Sebastian, which is a styling cream that has nine botanical extracts that help rejuvenate the hair.
How do you keep colored or treated hair healthy?
Use a heat protector product like Schwarzkopf’s Repair Rescue or Thermal Image Protection spray, and give your hair a regular treatment at the salon especially right after coloring to revive and retain its moisture.
What are the signs of damaged hair?
Falling hair, dry scalp/hair, spilt-ends and a stringy texture definitely ring a bell. Steer clear of chemical treatments for the time being.
How to do you prep your hair for color or chemical treatment?
Before you do anything to your hair, (consult with) your colorist and stylist. This will help prevent hair color disasters and will also give you an idea of what hair color might look best on you.
