After months of rumours, Genshin Impact's player housing system was finally announced by developer miHoYo during the 1.5 update livestream on Friday (16 April).

The system, called the Serenitea Pot (yes, it's the one from Madam Ping), as well as new characters Eula (5*) and Yanfei (4*), new bosses and more were some of the highlights of the Genshin Impact 1.5 updates, "Beneath the Light of Jadeite".

In addition to the these, and as the update name hints, everyone's favourite Geo boss Zhongli will be back with the second part of his story quest. Players who missed a chance to get Zhongli earlier will also have that opportunity in his banner rerun.

The latest update will also have native support for Playstation 5 players, so congratulations (which is especially deserved if you've managed to find a PS5).

The Genshin Impact 1.5 update will be released on 28 April, miHoYo said. Here are some of the highlights.

Serenitea Pot

While not exactly Mondstadt giving you a plot of land for saving them from Dvalin's rage, the Serenitea Pot is a realm within the special tea pot created by Liyue's adepti (yes, yes, it's bigger on the inside).

From the demo, it looks like you'll be able to choose from buildings in Mondstadt and Liyue (at least, for the moment), as well as other options like trees and benches, to design your very own abode.

You'll be able to invite your friends in co-op to visit your world, but it looks like you'll still be limited to the maximum 4-person party.

Also, it looks like you'll have to hunt down the Unusual Hilichurl as part an event or quest related to the Serenitea Pot. Since he disappears into a small chest each time you smack him around too much, he might have some relation to the workings of the TARDIS Serenitea Pot.

New characters Eula and Yanfei

Anyone hoping for an Anemo 5* Claymore user will have to wait a bit longer, as this update brings yet another Cryo 5* Claymore user, Eula, the Spindrift Knight and Captain of the Knights of Favonius Reconnaissance Company.

According to miHoYo, Eula can "deal AoE damage and increase her resistance to interruption with her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst".

Meanwhile, Klee has some competition in the Pyro Catalyst user category with the new 4* Yanfei, who is half-human, half illuminated-beast.

Eagle-eyed stream watchers also noted another pink-haired chibi character in the Chinese livestream of the update. While not much was said other than her name, her similarities to Yae Sakura (a character from miHoYo's Honkai Impact), has been noted.

Also, as mentioned, the banner rerun will be Zhongli. Watch for opinions on Zhongli in another story soon.

New bosses and Trounce Domain

Another addition to Genshin Impact in 1.5 will be the new bosses. The food for Klee/Hutao/Diluc Cryo Hypostasis will make an appearance as a new world boss in Dragonspine (so don't go farming the Cryo flower for Eula just yet).

There will also be a new Trounce Domain, Azhdaha, the "Lord of Vishaps", who will hopefully drop a few more prototypes than the other weekly bosses.

A big change is also the reduction of the resin cost to claim rewards for the current Trounce Domain, at 30 instead of 60. Additionally, if you beat Dvalin, Childe or Lupus Boreas in co-op mode, you'll be getting double the companionship EXP, which means unlocking those voice lines and the character name card (for all you completionists) much faster.

More Hangout Events and new artifact sets

Players who want more of Hangout Events will be pleased to know that you'll get the chance to further the story with Noelle (also the recipient of unwanted DEF main stat artifacts), as well as a new one to spend time with Diona.

Speaking of artifacts, 1.5 will introduce two new sets, the HP-focused Tenacity of the Millelith and the Physical Damage boosting Pale Flame.

No mention of the location to farm these artifacts are out just yet, but at a glance the Tenacity of the Millelith looks like something that could shine on the main star of 1.5, Zhongli, especially those who play him with a HP build.

Meanwhile, the Pale Flame could be interesting for Physical damage dealers like Razor or the recently released Rosaria.

Inazuma concepts

Finally, we got our first look at the Japan-inspired Inazuma through some concept art shared by miHoYo.

If you're having severe travel withdrawal, the art will definitely remind you of Japan in spring, with the sakuras in full bloom.

Among the images were the mountains of Narukami Island, which according to the lore will likely be one of the first sights seen on the journey to Inazuma.

There's also Yashiori Island, with a giant snake skeleton, Mikage Furnance, a smelting facility on another island, as well as Tenshukaku in Inazuma City, said to be the home of the Electro Archon.

While Inazuma may not actually come in 1.5, it's still great to finally see glimpses of the new region. Hopefully, this will tide the player base over until more story content is in the game itself.
