"House of the Rising Sons" to premiere at NYAFF
22 Jun – Director Anthony Chan recently revealed that his highly-anticipated film, "House of the Rising Sons" will be making its global premiere at the 17th New York Asian Film Festival.
As reported on Mingpao, the director, who appeared at the promotional event of the movie alongside the cast and members of the Hong Kong group The Wynners, said that the movie will be screened at the festival on 2 July, ahead of its theatrical release.
"The organiser said that they will have two American groups to perform our songs, so we suggested them to hire the Village People to sing "Love" instead of "YMCA", joked Wynners member, Alan Tam.
"House of the Rising Sons" revolves around the struggles of the popular aforementioned Hong Kong group since its formation in 1969, its disbandment, and subsequent reunion.
The movie stars Carlos Chan, Yu Tian, Jonathan Wong, Simon Yam, and Kara Hui.
