From hotdogs to interdental brushes, Twitter users share the strange Halloween treats their children received
Halloween trick-or-treaters got more than they bargained for last night, receiving some surprising items instead of traditional sweets.
From hotdogs to loose cough drops, people took to Twitter to reveal the wealth of odd items they were gifted – likely by those caught short without confectionary to give trick-or-treaters.

Took a different route in my neighborhood this year – found a house that gave away kid candy, adult candy, pop corn, hot dogs, dog treats & beer. Halloween will never be the same.

Others shared the non-traditional items they were planning to give to trick-or-treaters turning up outside their homes last night.
Highlights included everything from two penny pieces to interdental brushes (arguably quite handy after eating all those sweets).
Dogsitting for a friend and I am anticipating the trick or treaters.
But considering giving these out to see if they’ll egg my friend’s house pic.twitter.com/3bVtjvfps5

My mum literally went to the bank to get money for the trick or treaters. They’ll be the ones in shock when they realise she’s only giving them 2ps!!! #Halloween18 #trickortrreat #frightnight pic.twitter.com/b3CV9D97LY

Another woman had thoughtfully stocked up on Play-Doh and glow sticks to give children a more long-lasting treat they could play with.
Come at me, trick or treaters!
Except for you, jerkface kid who tells me I’m doing Halloween wrong by giving out Play-Doh and glow sticks rather than candy. Pound sand. pic.twitter.com/I1Fy0H9WbD
