Hong Kong star Chow Yun Fat spotted helping to clear road after typhoon
After Typhoon Hato hit Hong Kong on Wednesday (23 August), it was inevitable that it left behind a trail of wreckage.
Actor Chow Yun Fat was spotted by an eagle-eyed resident helping to clear an uprooted tree that was blocking a road in the Kowloon Tong neighbourhood, according to media reports.
Chow was reportedly alone at the time and was dressed in a black jacket and shorts. He was driving home and found the streets to be blocked by the fallen branches of the uprooted tree, so he decided to remove the obstructions “so that other drivers could drive home safely”.
The resident who spotted Chow in the clean-up later asked Chow for a selfie, and the famously approachable thespian obliged. He then uploaded the selfie and a picture of Chow cleaning up the debris on Instagram.
“I met Chow Yun Fat who was helping to remove a fallen tree blocking the road during the typhoon. Please be careful!”, wrote the Instagram caption. However, the posts have since been deleted.
Typhoon Hato has claimed the lives of at least 16 people and left a trail of destruction across southern China.
