Hong Kong Cantopop male group Grasshopper attended Yue Man Square’s “YM2 Opening Ceremony and 20th Anniversary Celebrations” on 29 June, sharing their stories of exploring the district as they had lived there for over 20 years.

Besides riding bicycles through the district, going hiking and swimming in the nearby nature spaces, member Edmond So also revealed that he would order three bowls of desserts from a store at Yue Man Square town centre whenever he visited the eatery. When asked if he had found his first love in the district, So laughed and denied, “I did not start dating this young.”

Formed in 1985, the trio shared their common memories spent in a record store. Being music lovers since young, Remus Choy shared that the trio does not have sufficient spending money back in the days, and they will “go to a record store, pretended that we wanted to buy some records, but actually, we were there just to listen to the music.”

Due to the pandemic, Grasshopper was unable to hold any concerts over the past year. Member Calvin Choy expressed regrets about the lack of performances in 2020 but promised that Grasshopper is ready for a concert. “We will come back for a concert tour once the pandemic dies down, and we are ready for one in the next year!”
