Hong Chao Feng says cancer may be recurring
16 Oct – Hong Kong actor Hong Chao Feng recently revealed that there is a possibility that his cancer has recurred.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor who underwent surgery in December last year after being diagnosed with tongue cancer, shared the unfortunate news on Facebook, saying that he has recently went to the doctors and that the result will be revealed in the near future.
He also assured that he is not afraid of what's to come, and that he will accept the result with a peace of mind.
Speaking to the media about the possibility of a recurrence, Hong said that he first realised that something was wrong two months ago when he felt a swelling on his neck.
However, despite the uncertainty, Hong said that he decided to go on his vacation with his family to Europe as scheduled.
"I forgot all about my illness. The whole trip was very enjoyable and painless," he said.
Hong said that if it is proven that the cancer has recurred, he has no issue undergoing surgery again.
"If surgery is no longer useful, I will try other treatments," he said, adding that death is not such a big deal as he has lived his life with no regrets.
Hong also shared that he was actually in the middle of writing a book about cancer, which was scheduled to be launched at the end of the year. However, now that there is a possibility of a recurrence, he will continue to add contents to his book.
"Aside from travelling, working also made me forget about my illness," he said.
