Homeland Security Investigating Leslie Jones Hack

It looks as though Leslie Jones’s hackers should be very, very afraid.

The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that they are investigating the attack which revealed private and intimate photos of the ‘Ghostbusters’ actress.

“ICE Homeland Security Investigations in New York does currently have an open investigation,” said a DHS spokesperson. They were obviously unable to say much else on the matter. “As a matter of agency policy, we are unable to disclose any information related to an active investigation.”

This latest cyber-attack against the 48-year-old comedian and actress saw hackers seemingly breaking into her iCloud account and posting intimate pictures onto her website that included explicit personal photos, as well as passport and social security images.

A particularly vile video accompanied the images, seemingly being used as a racial slur.

“The hack of Jones’ site, which has been taken offline, also featured YouTube video of the gorilla Harambe, who was killed in an Ohio zoo earlier this year,” explained The Wrap.

Her personal phone number and password to her Twitter account were also revealed.

But where did this horrific attack come from?

The intervention of Homeland Security has made many suggest that it may have come from overseas… Others insist that the hack may have been retaliation for Breitbart columnist Milo Yiannopoulos being suspended from Twitter last month, due to his part in an extended Twitter attack on Jones last month.

However, the columnist insists that he is just as appalled as anyone.

“I’m distressed to hear that Leslie Jones has been hacked and naked pictures of her have been posted online,” he explained in a statement. “I know we had our differences after my review of Ghostbusters but I wish her all the best at what must be a deeply upsetting time.”

What happens next remains to be seen.

But with homeland Security on the trail, surely it won’t be long before Leslie Jones’s hackers are brought to justice.
