Home-based businesses: Health and beauty services you can book online in Singapore

SINGAPORE – Given the lockdown measures, some local beauty businesses have seen value in providing home-based services. Why? It provides the flexibility of accommodating to the customer's schedule instead of adhering to the operating hours of a shopping mall, for instance. 

For new entrepreneurs, starting as a home-based business allows them to test their services in the market before sinking their capital with a retail outlet.

Tropika Club

Beauty-booking platform Tropika Club supports home call merchants with its Tropika Club Deals, where they onboard merchants for free and collect a success fee only when deal is closed.

Since its launch, the platform has listed over 3,500 listings of beauty, wellness, and fitness offerings for both women and men, and has partnered with some of Singapore’s biggest players including the Mary Chia Group, Avone Beauty, and many more.

Some of the services are listed as below:

1. Move Manicure

Customers can book for a manicure session right in the comfort of their living room. 

2. Ockham's Razor 

Looking for a fresh cut? Ockham’s Razor is a barbershop that is located in the basement of Katong Shopping Centre, and they provide affordable haircuts and hair removal for male customers.

3. Yoga Therapy

Stretch and relax, and find your inner peace with Kristine, a Hatha and Astanga yoga trained teacher and founder of Yoga Therapy.

4. Dance Embassy

Want to be the next Tik Tok star? Try out their Tik Tok Dance Sensation classes. Or, delve deeper into the Kathak Classical Dance or Punjabi Bhangra.

5. Bliss Shala 

You can learn yoga at your own pace and on your own terms with the patient instructors at Bliss Shala, who will guide you to your goal.

6. RealEase 

Using the Spinal Flow Technique, the therapists will use light touches on the areas of openness of the spine that we call access points, without any manipulation.


Beauty-booking app Vaniday, which announced its relaunch in July 2020, also lists home-based services if you're not keen to head to town for your next beauty fix.

1. Fang's Little Nail Shop

Fang’s Little Nail Shop is a humble, home-based nail salon located near Redhill MRT. Her gels are from Japan, hand-picked and brought in from the owner’s personal trips there.

2. Melvividnails_lash

Curlashes is a home-based lash salon located in Woodlands run by Penny, a certified Lash Artist by BL Korea and Lash Origin.

5. JC Lash from Japan

Catering to those that live around Toa Payoh, home-based lash salon JC Lash from Japan offers an extensive selection, from Japanese Classic Natural to Volume Russian Lower Lashes, to name a few.
