HK Stuntman Association gives Jackie Chan contribution award

4 Feb – Despite the severity of the Novel Coronavirus epidemic, the Hong Kong Stuntman Association decided not to cancel its spring banquet, where it awarded several of its renowned members, including action star Jackie Chan.

As reported on Mingpao, on the seventh day of the Lunar New Year the association held its annual event, but not without precaution - by inviting two professionals from the St John's emergency team to examine each and every attendee for safety reasons.

Aside from Jackie, among the celebrities who attended the event include Eric Tsang, Leung Siu Leung, Chin Siu Ho, Simon Chui, and Sharon Yeung.

The association also presented members Jackie Chan, Eric Tsang, Yuen Shun Yi, Wong Shu Tong and Sharon Yeung with the Outstanding Contribution Award during the said event. On the other hand, masters Tsui Bo Wa and Lee Fai were given the Outstanding Action Performance Award.

The attendees also voted for their three favourite action films of 2019 - "The White Storm 2 - Drug Lord", "Line Walker 2", and "Guilt By Design".

Asked why they decided to hold the spring banquet despite the current situation, president Chin Ka Lok stated that many of the members requested for it to continue as they look forward to the event every year.

"After discussing with all the committee members, we decided that the spring banquet would go on as scheduled," he added.
