HK celebrities start "Stay At Home" campaign

31 Mar – Hong Kong celebrities recently took to social media to urge the public to stay at home and implement social distancing for the sake of everybody's safety.

As reported on Mingpao, stars like Vivian Chow, Leo Ku, and Joey Yung recently shared photos of them holding a placard expressing why they decided to stay home.

Vivian, who wrote that she stays home for her family, friends, and all the medical workers, wrote, "The situation in Hong Kong is beginning to be quite severe. It is important for everyone to stay at home as much as possible. Protecting yourself and protecting others is a responsibility. It is really necessary to work together to fight the epidemic. Thank you very much!"

Joey, whose placard read, "I stay home for my family and friends, patients and healthcare workers, our community, and you", stated, "Be sure to persist! Don't relax! Fight against the pandemic! Do your best, everybody!"

On the other hand, Leo Ku, who has been staying home taking care of his first son, shared his first photo on social media - following his baby announcement - holding a similar sign and wrote, "The second wave of the pandemic is coming. If you can work from home, stay home. Please stay home as much as possible to prevent from further spreading the virus and adding burden to the medical system. Do not take this lightly."

Other stars who participated in the campaign include Nancy Wu, Selena Lee, Kenny Kwan, and Natalie Tong.
