Hillary Clinton Launches Twitter Assault on ‘Pathetic,’ Unhinged’ Donald Trump

Hillary Clinton has responded to Donald Trump’s early morning Twitter rampage, calling him “unhinged” and “dangerous” in a tweetskreig of her own.

The twitlash was a response to Trump’s own Twitter storm in which he bashed the media and Hillary Clinton, encouraging followers to “check out” former Miss Universe Alicia Machado’s sex tape. Clinton quoted the sex tape tweet and wrote, “This is…unhinged, even for Trump. A few notes.”

She then went on to send the following notes, via Twitter of course.

Clinton asked, “What kind of man stays up all night to smear a woman with lies and conspiracy theories?”

Two minutes later, she wrote, “Alicia deserves praise for courageously standing up to Trump’s attacks. And he has the gall to blame her–and say he ‘helped?'”

The first female presidential nominee for a major party continued her assault on Trump.

“When something gets under Donald’s thin skin, he lashes out and can’t let go. This is dangerous for a president,” she wrote. “Trump obsessively bullies Rosie O’Donnell–an accomplished actor. He insulted Kim Kardashian for her weight–when she was pregnant. Pathetic.”

Clinton also wrote, “We’ve heard Donald’s insults for years, and his policies reflect this disregard–even contempt–for women.”

The early morning string of tweets by Trump that prompted Clinton’s response has been mocked on cable news throughout Friday morning.

“Using Alicia M in the debate as a paragon of virtue just shows that Crooked Hillary suffers from BAD JUDGEMENT! Hillary was set up by a con,” Trump tweeted at 5:19 a.m. ET.

He followed up minutes later by accusing Clinton of helping Machado become a citizen. “Did Crooked Hillary help disgusting (check out sex tape and past) Alicia M become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in the debate?”

Clinton famously mentioned the former Miss Universe during Monday’s debate, and spent the week on a Trump-bashing media tour. Machado, the first winner of the Miss Universe pageant during its Trump era, has accused the GOP presidential candidate of calling her “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeper” as criticism of her weight 20 years ago.

Another early morning tweet from Trump said, “Wow, Crooked Hillary was duped and used by my worst Miss U. Hillary floated her as an ‘angel’ without checking her past, which is terrible!”

Trump has 11.9 million Twitter followers, while Clinton has 9.24 million.
