Hilary Rhoda wanted to be "sensitive to others" when announcing her pregnancy news.
Last week, the model took to social media to share that she is expecting her first child with her sportsman husband Sean Avery, but in an accompanying message on her Instagram Stories, noted that it wasn't an easy journey to conceive.
"Trying to conceive is a mindf**k and might have almost ended our marriage once or twice," she candidly commented.
Talking to People at the recent launch of UNIQLO's spring/summer 2020 collection, Hilary explained how she wanted to touch upon her own challenges to help others going through similar experiences.
"I was sensitive to the people out there who are trying to conceive or have experienced loss from miscarriages like I did, so I wanted to share that it wasn't easy for us either," the 32-year-old told the magazine.
Hilary, who is perhaps best known for her work on Estee Lauder campaigns, also divulged that she "had a dream very early on in my pregnancy that it was a boy".
Yet, she and Sean aren't set on any baby names yet.
"We have a list of names, of course, but nothing narrowed down just yet," the brunette beauty smiled, adding that she is now looking forward to wearing chic maternity clothes. "I will definitely wear clothes that accentuate my bump! It will be fun to figure out new ways to style my outfits now."
