HGTV's Breegan Jane Will Star in New Discovery+ Series “The House My Wedding Bought”
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition star Breegan Jane is getting her own series! But get this: the seasoned designer and real estate pro won't actually be revamping interiors in this new show, but rather helping clients in a different area: their finances. In The House My Wedding Bought, Jane will help engaged couples split their budget to afford their dream wedding and put a down payment on a house — proving that it is possible to afford both as long you're willing to make a few small compromises.
This new series, which is a discovery+ original, will be available to stream on the platform starting Wednesday, June 16. In each episode, Jane will meet with a couple who is looking to wed and buy a home. However, each partner will have a different opinion as to how their money should be split up. To help them make a decision, she'll take them to tour wedding venues and potential homes at different price points. Then she'll help them strategize and settle on the best way to divvy up their savings. By the end of each episode, each couple will have put some of their money towards their big day as well as some towards a new home.
As HGTV's president Jane Latman said in a statement: "Breegan shows the couples ways they can save money, from scaling back on the guest list and type of venue to downsizing plans for a spa bathroom and spacious backyard, so everyone gets the wedding and first home of their dreams." Furthermore, Lisa Holme, SVP of Content and Commercial Strategy for Discovery, noted how this show will serve as a resource for those in the same boat: "The series shows couples exactly how far their dollars can go at such a pivotal point in their lives and it's perfect for our younger streaming audience on discovery+." She also added that "The House My Wedding Bought perfectly captures how Millennials are redefining the American dream."
