The Thomas Fire, which started on Monday, has ravaged Southern California, burning more than 100,000 acres and displacing people in communities throughout the region. But a hopeful story has emerged from the scary news, and many onlookers say it has restored their faith in humanity during this trying time.
According to KABC-TV, an unnamed man was seen risking his life to save a rabbit alongside Highway 1 in La Conchita, California. The man did not want to be interviewed, so we don't know who he is-but that didn't stop social media from hailing him as a hero, and a sign of something positive in such a sad news story.
CNN reports that the rabbit was caught on camera by a news photographer scurrying across traffic and into the brush, which was on fire. A man is then seen, wearing no fire protection, chasing after the rabbit and panicking over what to do-this rabbit may likely be his pet. The man then goes into the brush to convince the rabbit to leave the fire, the rabbit gets out, and the man picks him up.
The video went viral on social media, with viewers calling the rabbit rescuer a hero.

Whoever this man is, I hope he'll follow me on twitter. I had a beloved bunny as a pet and would've done the same crazy thing as him. #Hero
I want to buy that man a gift. xoxoxo- Cindy Moss (@CindyMoss74) December 7, 2017
