Despite her connection to the Alien franchise, Ripley herself Sigourney Weaver has confirmed that she hasn’t actually seen the ’Alien Vs. Predator’ films.

But rather than avoiding them because they were savaged by critics and audiences alike, the actress has confirmed that she hasn’t watched them because she heard that Alien lost to the Predator.

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Weaver made these comments while speaking at a screening of 1986’s ‘Aliens’, which was being held to celebrate Alien Day.

After have quizzed about her apparent dislike for both the 2004 and 2007 films, Weaver confirmed, “Well, I haven’t seen them,” before then emphatically adding, “Because I heard that the Alien doesn’t beat the Predator and I thought, ‘F*** that’.”

Sigourney Weaver also took some time to discuss the impending ‘Alien’ film, which is being directed by ‘District 9’s’ Neill Blomkamp, and is reportedly a direct sequels to ‘Aliens’.

Weaver admitted that she was attracted to the film because she believes that the franchise had “just left the whole story hanging and [it] always felt a little incomplete” to her.”

After originally discussing a fifth outing for Ripley with Blomkamp she thought, “Gosh, that would be so great, to know that Ripley has a resting place eventually, and wouldn’t it be great to send the series like that’.” In fact, Weaver even had the confidence to insist that ‘Alien 5′ is “going to be very satisfying.”

We’re not still sure when we can expect ‘Alien 5′ though, but Sigourney Weaver’s clear excitement for the project means that as soon its release date is confirmed we’ll all be fervently counting down the months, weeks, and days until it is finally with us.
