It feels like forever and a day since the initial news broke, but Friends fans can finally rejoice: The gang actually got back together for a reunion! I know, I know—it feels too good to be true. But trust us, you’ll want to know the deets on how you can stream it ASAP if you missed the show last night.

There was a lot of hype surrounding the reunion, and IDK who was running the show’s official Insta account (don’t you love how they’ve kept up with the times?), but they clearly knew what their fan base wanted with plenty of hints dropped since the reunion taped in April. Exhibit A: this photo from the taping with the caption, “That’s a wrap! 🎬 Could we BE any more excited!? Friends: The Reunion is coming to @HBOMax. #FriendsReunion”

Now that the reunion has aired, we need to break down exactly what happened during the taping. The Friends cast returned to their original Warner Bros. soundstage and executive produced the whole thing. And yes, they sat on their iconic Central Perk couch (sans java in hand) and there were a ton of surprise guests to keep fans happy throughout the special.

Before we get too far into daydreaming about specifics, you might be wondering just how to stream the Friends reunion now. Do not fear, friends (see what I did there?). We’ll always be there for you, so here’s the deal:

Yes, the Friends reunion aired on May 27.

HBO Max aired the epic hangout between our favorite Central Perk gang! On another note—can we make this an official holiday? Please and thank you.

The May 27 special featured Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry chatting on the Warner Bros. studio. Before the tears proceed to spill over, check out the tagline of the special: “The One Where They Get Back Together.”

Cue the emotions…NOW!

What have the characters been up to?

Everyone in the cast has a general idea of where they see their respective characters in 2021. In a People cover story, Jennifer said she thinks Rachel would have maybe “started a clothing line of my own and it’s sort of a small franchise…like a Nili Lotan. And I live in New York City on the Upper East Side.”

Courteney, on the other hand, thinks Monica “would be doing something competitively with other mothers and trying to outdo them, whether it’s the bake sale at school or something. I mean, she’d be so annoying. She’d be at the head of the PTA or something.”

Lisa believes Phoebe “is living in Connecticut with Mike and their kids, and she’s in charge of the arts program for the school.” Matthew says Chandler “would be a wonderful father” and a “wonderful comedy writer,” while Matt thinks Joey would have a “chain of sandwich shops.” Ross is still into paleontology, so David definitely sees him “playin’ with the bones,” LOL.

How can I watch the Friends reunion now that it aired?

It is going to be airing again on HBO Max, so lucky you! As long as you have an account for the streaming platform, you should be good to go. If you don’t, you have to spend $14.99 a month and you’ll have access to all of HBO Max’s movies and shows…like a little sitcom called Friends.

Awesome. What else should I know?

About a week before the special, HBO Max released a list of celebrity guests who joined the Friends gang.

Here’s the list of everyone who made a special appearance:

  • David Beckham

  • Justin Bieber (aka model extraordinaire)

  • BTS

  • James Corden (he was the host, which, uh, didn’t go over super well at first)

  • Cindy Crawford

  • Cara Delevingne (she managed to make some unique costumes look red-carpet-worthy)

  • Lady Gaga (her version of “Smelly Cat” will forever be imprinted in my brain…also, how does she look so much like Phoebe?)

  • Elliott Gould

  • Kit Harington

  • Larry Hankin

  • Mindy Kaling

  • Thomas Lennon

  • Christina Pickles

  • Tom Selleck (because we had to know what happened with Richard!)

  • James Michael Tyler

  • Maggie Wheeler (three words: Oh. My. God!)

  • Reese Witherspoon (for those who wondered what happened to Jill Green…)

  • Malala Yousafzai

Oh, and there’s more. Courteney appeared on The Ellen Show in early May and gave some insight into the day of the taping and how happy she was to get the whole gang back together.

“It was unbelievable, it was so emotional,” she told Ellen DeGeneres about the special. “It’s an unscripted reunion, but we got to be on Stage 24 for the first time, all of us, in, like…17 years. It was great and really fun. It was fantastic.”

David echoed Courteney’s exact sentiments during an April appearance on The Graham Norton Show. But unlike his TV sister, he gave fans a teaser of what’s to come: “There’s nothing scripted, we’re not in character,” he told the talk-show host. “We’re all ourselves, the real people, although there is one section of it that I don’t want to give away…but we all read something.”

What could this surprise be?? Well, you’d better start streaming the reunion to find out! In the meantime, here’s a clip of Lady Gaga singing “Smelly Cat” for your viewing pleasure:
