Here’s what Amber Heard will look like as Mera in Justice League

We’ve finally got our very first look at Amber Heard as Mera of Atlantis in the ‘Justice League’. And it’s safe to say that it was worth the wait, because she looks top notch.

IGN were able to get their hands on several images of how Mera’s costume design evolved, which includes a concept picture and production unit still of Heard in the costume taken by director Zack Snyder.

To start things off though ‘Justice League’s’ costume designer Michael Wilkinson had to draw a sketch of what Mera would wear for the blockbuster:

Once that was given the thumbs up and gained the approval of the powers that be over at Warner Bros and from ‘Justice League’s’ creative team, Michael Wilkinson and his posse drew concept art of Amber Heard as Mera in the outfit. The final version of which you can see below:

Wilkinson and his crew then set about stitching and creating Mera’s costume, no doubt with some further assistance from Amber Heard.

Finally the day then came for the 30-year-old to don the attire. Fortunately for us Zack Snyder was there to capture it, because Heard looks majestic as the character:

Of course, this is only the beginning for Amber Heard in the DC Extended Universe.

Because while Mera, who in the comics is portrayed as the wife of Stephen Curry/Aquaman and as such is the queen of Atlantis, will also feature in ‘Aquaman’s’ origin story opposite Jason Momoa as the nautical superhero.

‘Justice League’ comes first, though, on November 17, 2017, while ‘Aquaman’ will follow on July 27, 2018.
