Remember when Tati Westbrook called out fellow beauty vlogger James Charles in a 43-minute YouTube video not-at-all-dramatically titled “BYE SISTER…”? Well, we’re nowhere near done with that drama, and now Shane Dawson is involved. The YouTuber has come under fire over resurfaced racist and predatory videos, and on top of that, the beauty vlogging community has accused him of masterminding James Charles’s 2019 cancellation along with Jeffree Star. As a result, multiple brands have reportedly stopped working with Shane, YouTube has demonetized his videos, and Tati just spilled another 40 minutes of tea. In other words, a lot is happening and we’ve laid it all out for those of you who are, ya know, mildly curious but maybe don’t spend your daily life keeping up with YouTube drama.

Circa May 2019

Tati Westbrook publishes “BYE SISTER…” (since deleted!) and accuses James Charles of (a) betraying her by promoting a rival hair vitamin company and (b) predatory behavior. James defends himself on all accounts with receipts. Wondering what this has to do with Shane? Just wait.

Fast-forward to hell on earth…also known as the month of June 2020. During an IGTV video, beauty YouTuber Kameron Lester opens up about his experience with Jeffree Star, saying, “I just felt like it wasn’t a friendship, it was never a friendship in the beginning to start with, it was always something like, I was kind of like the token Black kid.”

He also explains that he witnessed Shane call Jeffree and “go in on” James Charles three months before James’s scandal: “I knew three months before [James] had that scandal something bad was going to happen.”

Rumors begin circulating that Shane orchestrated Tati’s “BYE SISTER…” video, but he posts a four-page letter on Twitter denying this and saying he’s fully done with beauty drama:

Shane then deletes the post and writes this:

Videos of Shane wearing blackface and saying the N-word resurface across the internet, and in response, he drops a 20-minute video on his YouTube channel called “Taking Accountability.” In it, he references inappropriate and disturbing jokes he’s made about children, saying—per People“I swear on my life, I am not somebody who would ever talk about a child, like in seriousness, I would never talk about a child in any way that is inappropriate. That is disgusting, that is gross, it is not something I would ever do. It is something I did for shock value or because I thought it was funny or like, ‘Oh my god, my child molester character,’ or whatever.”

A clip of Shane resurfaces featuring him seemingly masturbating to a poster of Willow Smith, who was just 11 at the time. This is obviously completely and totally f*cked up, and Willow’s brother, Jaden Smith, hops on Twitter to write, “SHANE DAWSON I AM DISGUSTED BY YOU. YOU SEXUALIZING AN 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL WHO HAPPENS TO BE MY SISTER!!!!!! IS THE FURTHEST THING FROM FUNNY AND NOT OKAY IN THE SLIGHTEST BIT.”

He adds, “This Man Was Also Doing Black Face On The Regular. As The Youth We Need To Support Creators Who Support Us And Our Morals. This Is Not Okay.”

Meanwhile, Willow’s mom, Jada, tweets, “To Shane Dawson…I’m done with the excuses.”

Insider reports that Target has pulled all of Shane’s books from its stores. The retailer releases a statement saying, “We’re committed to creating an experience in which all guests feel welcomed and respected. We’re in the process of removing these books from our assortment.”

June 30, 2020

Because lord knows she loves an epically long YouTube video, Tati uploads another 40-minute tell-all about her May 2019 public feud with James, claiming that Shane and Jeffree orchestrated the entire thing and gaslit her because they’re “bitterly jealous of James’s success.”

Tati further claims that Shane came to her house and made “horrific” allegations against James, even offering to edit her “BYE SISTER…” video. “I did not make my video because of vitamins,” Tati said. “I made it as a result of all the poisonous lies that were fed to me by Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star.”

At this point, Shane takes to Instagram Live and essentially has a meltdown while watching Tati’s video, accusing her of lying and fake-crying:

He also tweets and deletes this:

That same day, Morphe appears to remove the Shane Dawson x Jeffree Star Conspiracy Collection from its website….

And YouTube tells TubeFilter that they’ve suspended monetization on all of Shane’s channels. As all of this is going down, his fiancé, Ryland Adams, goes off on Twitter:
