Here's an A Cappella Medley of Great John Williams Movie Scores

John Williams may be the greatest film composer of all time, and this viral video shows why. The a cappella group Voctave has recorded a seven-minute medley of Williams’s scores, from Star Wars to Harry Potter. And thanks to helpful film clips, it’s easy to match the musical snippets to their respective films. Watch and listen above.

Even this extensive medley doesn’t capture the full scope of John Williams’s illustrious movie career. Most recently the composer of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Williams, 84, has been nominated for 50 Academy Awards, more than any other living person. The video includes some of Williams’s most immediately recognizable work — Superman, Jaws, Star Wars, E.T. — along with some more obscure songs, including the main theme from Home Alone (“Somewhere in My Memory,” the only piece featured with lyrics), the Hook score, and one of Williams’s themes for the Olympics. Gotta say, hearing the Jurassic Park music sung by a high soprano is a one-of-a-kind experience. (H/t to Uproxx.)

Voctave, a Florida-based group, previously achieved viral video fame in February with a medley of Disney love songs, featuring a cappella stars Kirstin Maldonado (Pentatonix) and Jeremy Michael Lewis (AcoUstiKats). Watch it below.
